valentines schmalentines.

let's be honest: we single girls are entirely too cynical about valentine's day. we're all "oh pity party with me. i don't have a boyfriend and so this holiday is discriminating against me. boo hoo. poor me."
phft. dumb. this day is all about...everyone. it's about love. not romantic love. just love in general. yes, there are loads of jewelry commercials and wayyyy too many chocolates around. but that is not the point. the point is (say it with me) love.
that being said, i hereby make a pact with you, my lovely readers, to not bash valentine's day, no matter what happens or does not happen in my own life. instead, i hope to bring you the great joy that is valentine's around here.

today, i was talking to a very wise and wonderful woman, and she told me this quote (which of course i researched and found that it was from a cheesy old song, but it is still worth pondering.):

when you can't trace His hand,
trust His heart.

i know. it's super cheesy. but how perfect. when i can't exactly see what He is trying to do (like now), i just have to trust that His plan is perfect. just something to ponder on in the coming days before the day of much pink and many hearts.
